| Speaker: Pastor Wayne Graumann |
| Topic: "Evangelizing Russia" |
|
Join us as we hear the story of Pastor Graumann’s recent trip to Russia in his role as Chairman of the Board of Regents at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. His story will be complete with a multi-media presentation which you won’t want to miss! Wayne Graumann has been a pastor in Tomball for 31 years. Serving Salem Lutheran Church has been a joy and blessing to him and to his wife Kathy and their family. Wayne was born and raised in Oklahoma, but graduated from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in 1970 with a degree in education and political science. He went on to Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois where he graduated in 1974. Wayne was ordained into the ministry in his home congregation in Oklahoma in 1974 and assumed the pastoral office at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Raymondville, Texas that same year. Receiving a call to serve Salem in Rosehill/Tomball in 1978, Wayne accepted the call “sight unseen”, believing that the Holy Spirit wanted him to serve at Salem. Over the years, God has stretched Wayne to grow in many ways. As Salem grew, by God’s grace and blessing, Wayne needed to grow spiritually,
intellectually and strategically as well. Salem is the oldest surviving entity of any kind in north Harris County and in many ways the beginning point of
history for the wider Tomball area. This 158 year old congregation has a rich spiritual history. As a result Wayne has realized the responsibility of
shepherding this particular congregation into the future. Salem has been a pioneer in ministry and the congregation continues to reach out today in new
and creative ways to all age groups with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Wayne’s time is spent envisioning future ministry, leading the staff, preaching and
teaching the Word, serving in various wider world-ministry leadership capacities and guiding the everyday ministry of the congregation to the community.
