June 9, 2009 Luncheon

Speaker: J.R. "Jack" Frey
Topic: Scripture to Live By in the 21st Century

J.R. “Jack” Frey graduated from Texas A&M University and was a former officer in the 82nd Airborne Division and Airborne Ranger. In the true sense of the word, Frey loves a challenge in every area of his life.

Frey’s career had always been in sales. He began to develop an interest in real estate and after moving to the country, he decided that developing country residential real estate was what he really wanted to do. He promptly founded Jack Frey Properties, Inc., which has become the primary country residential developer in the Tomball, Texas area and is presently active developing country residential subdivisions, the most recent one being High Meadow Ranch, a 3,000 acre golf course development between Tomball and Magnolia. Over the years he was joined in the business by his sons, John, Paul and David and most recently by his son, Richard, who is now retired from the Navy.

All during Frey’s life, he has had a particular interest in young people’s work, being active in church youth ministry, Christian youth camps, little league teams of all sports and other young people’s organizations, such as Young Life. Young Life is a national organization dedicated to reaching High School young people with the life changing message of Jesus Christ.

During the 1970’s, Jack and Shirley led a high school youth group consisting of 50 to 70 kids from the community. It was called the “Happy Hour” – lots of fun and games with a spiritual emphasis. Kids made up signs posting them at school saying “Come to the ‘Happy Hour’. It meets at ‘Jack’s Place’. BYOB – Bring your own Bible.” (This was a Young Life type club.)

Frey’s primary priority in life is his own personal relationship with God and has a real desire to share with young people how they can have peace in this life by knowing their Creator in a personal way.

Frey believes that when a person knows Jesus Christ in a personal way, things in life don’t just happen by chance. God will direct us if we let Him. He will bless us when we follow His principles for living, and He is the only One Who can give us a peace that passes all understanding through both the good times and the trying times of our lives. We feel honored to have Jack as our speaker this month because Jack was one of the Christian Business Luncheon founding board members.
