Jim Herrington is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Mission Houston, a ministry that is committed to unifying and mobilizing the Body of Christ for service and ministry. Jim has served as pastor in local congregations in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas. He is a graduate of The University of Arkansas (BS, Psychology) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MA Education). Before founding Mission Houston, he was the Executive Director of Union Baptist Association, the association of 600+ Southern Baptist congregations in the Greater Houston area. He is the co-author of Leading Congregational Change and of The Leader’s Journey, two texts of pastoral leadership that are used by seminaries and Bible colleges across the country to train pastors.

In September 2007, Mission Houston established Faithwalking as the educational arm of its ministry. Faithwalking is designed to equip individuals in the private sector to mobilize the Church in neighborhoods and workplaces.

He has been married to Betty for 36 years. They have four children and three grandchildren.
