Lester Hutson placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior on October 12, 1954. He publicly committed his life to the gospel ministry on May 1, 1955. While completing public school and during his early college years he served as pastor of three small churches for a total of 4 ½ years. In October, 1964 became pastor of the Eleventh Street Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas and on June 6, 1976 he became pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Houston.

Pastor Hutson has invested almost all his adult life in the ministry. He is 66; over 48 of those years have been spent in pastorates. He has spent the past 44 years in full-time vocational ministry. His 32 years as Senior Pastor of Berean have been characterized by stability, solid growth, sound financial principles, mentoring, extensive missionary work and multi-faceted ministry. He is the author of many books published by Berean Press and a method of soul-winning known as Basic Bible Truths which is used nationally and internationally by many pastors, missionaries and others. Some of his books have been translated into a number of foreign languages.

Pastor Hutson earned his BA from Lamar University and his Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University. He also holds conferred doctorate degrees from both Temple Baptist College in Cincinnati, Ohio and Liberty University. He and Mrs. Hutson have been married for 47 years.

For the last several years Pastor Hutson has been mentoring a young man of God to take his place as pastor of Berean Baptist Church. They are in the final stages of that transition. During this time he has also been the Houston area representative for the Christian Law Association (CLA). Pastor Hutson eagerly waits his joining the CLA family full time.
