George Martinez is president of Chrysalis Partners, LLC, a firm that offers consulting services to executives and provides leadership development, coaching and employee training. He is also chairman of the board of Sterling Bancshares, Inc., a Houston, Texas-headquartered public company traded on Nasdaq, and its subsidiary, Sterling Bank, a commercial bank that operates 37 full-service banking offices in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. He was one of the founders of the bank in 1974. He serves on various non-profit organization boards. A native Texan and longtime resident of Houston, Mr. Martinez received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Economics from Rice University in 1963. He and his wife, Kathryn, have five children, Martha, Barbara, Rebecca, Matthew and Mark, and nine grandchildren.
