Paul Friedman, owner of three Paul's Pizza Shops, is a native of South Africa. He began his foodservice career at age 18 by helping family members run a restaurant. He purchased his first restaurant in 1973. His success with that restaurant led to a partnership in a chain of restaurants that spread throughout South Africa, the United States and Germany. A series of economic and political problems in 1984 cost Paul his business. Paul is a "completed Jew." His conversion to Christianity cost him relationships with his family. Paul's original Pizza Shop is located across from Klein High School. It affords him the opportunity to minister to the high school students who come to eat pizza at lunch or after school. Paul delights in bringing the message on his heart that he believes God is leading him to share. He believes that is the call of God in our daily conduct of business and he lives it from how he treats his staff and customers to how he conducts his daily business to how he makes his business decisions.
