Dave Welch is the founder and Executive Director of the Houston Area Pastor Council, an inter-denominational and inter-racial ministry of and for pastors based in Houston, Texas. Over the past twenty years he has held numerous leadership positions including founding Executive Director of Christian Coalition of Washington, National Field Director of Christian Coalition and Executive Director of Vision America. Dave is also owner of The Adams Group, which provides fundraising and event planning services to ministries such as The Urban Alternative, Bill Glass' Champions For Life, Living Water International and other organizations.

Dave began his political involvement in the state of Washington in the early 1980's, and has been elected to positions including precinct chairman, Republican State Committeeman and a delegate to local, state and national Republican Party conventions including the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Republican National Conventions. He was elected chairman of the Washington State Delegation to the 1996 National Convention in San Diego.

He has managed and served on numerous school board, state legislative, congressional, gubernatorial and presidential campaigns between 1984 and 2002. He has studied, written and lectured on Christian citizenship, religious freedom and church/state issues for over fifteen years and has been interviewed by the Washington Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and CNN News. He facilitated the launch of the Houston Area Pastor Council that now involves over one hundred forty senior pastors to develop a grassroots model showing how to build a team of pastors mutually committed to promoting Biblical righteousness and justice in culture and government. Affiliated councils have also been launched in Virginia and other cities in Texas.

Dave and his wife Valerie have been joyfully married for twenty three years and live in Magnolia, Texas. They are blessed with six children ages eight to twenty-one, including a son serving as a Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps and an infant daughter who is already home with her Lord.
