Doug Long is a 4th generation Christian and minister. He was called to pastor Silver Springs Baptist Church in Magnolia on September 28, 2004. God is working mightily in the church as people are touched with the freedom that is found only in Jesus.
Doug is a graduate of Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College where he received a BA in Theology and is currently working on his Master of Divinity at Liberty Theological Seminary. He and his wife Christy moved to Texas from Southern California nine years ago and currently live in The Woodlands, Texas. They have three children: Kenton (9), Justin (6), and Kiley (2).
The goal and focus of his ministry is to produce “fruit-bearing disciples” of Christ. The message of Jesus is “Good News”, and Doug’s desire is to share this news with as many others as possible.
It's not often that we have a guest speaker that: (i) is a 4th generation minister; (ii) is a successful businessman that was called to the ministry; (iii) is from a family of eleven children; (iv) is a successful pastor; (v) has the looks of a Hollywood actor.
