Jackie Barnes, LCSW, MBA joined Life’s Solutions Hospice Care, Inc. as their Community Educator and Psychosocial Coordinator last November, bringing 19 years of eldercare and healthcare experience with specific expertise in the fields of dementia, social work, and training to this new arena. Her mission is to increase the understanding of Hospice care delivery in the Sugar Land to Magnolia service area.
She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Social Work from James Madison University in Virginia in 1986 and went on the earn her Master’s of Science in Social Work in 1989 from the University of Texas at Arlington. In 2002, she obtained her Master’s in Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.
Sixteen of her nineteen years of healthcare experience focused in the arena of physical rehabilitation. More recently she has 3 years experience as the Administrator of a 96-bed Alzheimer’s Assisted Living Community where she became active with the Alzheimer’s Association. Jackie is well-known to the Tomball community from her 9 years of work at Tomball Regional Hospital and her multiple community service projects and speaking engagements about town. She was the 2005 chair of the Tomball Chamber of Commerce Business & Health EXPO and is the 2005 chair of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Tomball/ Northside Memory Walk. She is also the current chair for the Health Awareness Committee of the Tomball Chamber and co-chair of the same committee for the Houston Northwest Chamber. The common thread in her life and career is a passion for eldercare.
