Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."

September 14, 2004 Luncheon

Guest Speaker:  Rebecca Nix

Rebecca teaches Spanish at Tomball High School, where she’s been teaching since 1998. In 2001, she was chosen Tomball ISD Teacher of the Year. She’s very active in her home church, Tomball First Baptist, where she served as church pianist for five years and is the occasional Sunday school substitute.

She’s had many opportunities to speak at ladie's events, including retreats for West Conroe Baptist Church and Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. She has spoken to her home church, and in October 2003, she was asked to speak to women at the First Baptist Church in Houston where she shared hope and encouragement for all women who feel they fall short of the “Proverbs 31” ideal.

Rebecca says it is her sincere prayer that she would be an effective minister of the Gospel of truth, and it’s her goal to be obedient to the Father and serve Him wherever He places her. She states that, “While it’s my heart’s desire to speak full time and serve the Lord in this manner, I am learning every day that, in every situation I have the opportunity to minister, whether in front of a class of teenagers, making supper, folding the laundry, or putting the children to bed. The field is indeed white for the harvest, and I am surrounded by ripe wheat – all I have to do is open my eyes and look around me.”

Rebecca was raised in Palestine, Texas. She attended college at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas where she met her husband of twelve years, Michael. They have two children, Zachary, 9, and Erin, 2.
