Jackie Younger was born and raised in Harrisonburg, Virginia – Turkey Capital of the World for those of you who might pay attention to your poultry! She was born as an only child following 19 years of efforts to conceive – so obviously was born to parents in their 40’s which meant grandparents were in their 60’s. This seems to have been the root of establishing her love for the elderly.
She lived in an area that was primarily occupied by Mennonites and learned to have much respect for their beliefs and character. She and her family attended a small Methodist Church and she identifies one of her Sunday School teachers with instilling her with a heart for God – and for teaching her that God had a heart for her.
Jackie moved to Texas in 1986, and she has devoted most of her professional career to serving seniors by working in hospitals, hospice, and senior living. She loves Tomball where she was blessed to serve as the Chairman of the Board for the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce.
Jackie holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
She married her husband Robert in 2011 and inherited two beautiful daughters in the process – and more importantly – two amazing grandsons! Jackie & Robert worship at Living Word Lutheran Church in The Woodlands.
