Families Feeding Families | 10/14/25

In 2011, local businessman Rick Gatewood felt inspired to help those in need during Thanksgiving. He reached out to others in the Tomball, TX area, and soon, local individuals, businesses, churches, and schools joined forces, recognizing the community’s need.

On November 23, 2011, the first Families Feeding Families event was held at Christbridge Fellowship. Over 500 meals were served to attendees, and meals were also delivered to local nursing homes, where volunteers dined with the residents. The event featured free haircuts, face painting, children’s activities, and goodie bags, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.

Since the inaugural event, Families Feeding Families has set new records for attendance and people served every year. This outreach now extends to the homeless and elderly who cannot attend in person, thanks to dedicated off-site volunteers who deliver meals throughout Tomball.

Join us in making a difference! Volunteering with our organization offers a rewarding way to give back to the community. Whether you’re passionate about organizing events, distributing meals, or providing support in other areas, your time and skills are invaluable to us.
